Samurai (Redsoul remix)

A 2 track deep house single (18m 2s) — released April 30th 2007 on Pantone

Samurai began an uplifting tune that Jazztronik used to warm up his fingers before a recording session or live performance. With broken beats, hand claps, electronic wizardry and uplifting harmonies, Ryota Nozaki created a musical masterpiece that went on to provide a rare dose of real music for the dance floor and then climax at the top of Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards in 2004. After being heavily rinsed by the likes of Gilles, Danny Krivit and Louie Vega, Samurai has become Jazztronik’s proudest achievement and live-performance crowd pleaser. The original piano-driven hit, which skillfully balanced the line between West London broken beat and house, now gets given a second life with a DJ Dave ‘RedSoul’ Wareing remix. Hailing from the Angel Deelite Club in Manchester, DJ RedSoul’s previous works have seen him land in the top ten of the DJ Mag Hype Chart, break through into the Miami Winter Music Conference and record/remix for a whole host of labels like Generate, Philly Groove, Loveslap, Look At You Records, Loop Science, Needle Fuzz and Shaboom in the States. RedSoul remixes have also featured on CD compilations like Soul In The House 2 Phil Asher (Slip N Slide/Kickin Music, UK), Tinted Breaks & Melodies Solitaire/Static Revenger (Tinted, AUS) and Galaxy FM - On Your Level Slammin Boys (SuSu Records, UK). In recent times DJ RedSoul has steeped up another notch with remixes for the likes of Charles Dockins, original solo productions on Generate, and official remixes for Kelis Bossy on Virgin Records which reached top 20 in the Uk national chart.
